LG and KIA create the car of the future: a home on wheels with integrated appliances.

Mobility is about to undergo a radical transformation thanks to a collaboration between LG and Kia. The two companies have unveiled an innovative prototype vehicle that fuses automotive technology with smart home solutions, offering an unprecedented travel experience.

A vehicle that redefines comfort

This new concept car, called Spielraum, incorporates household appliances directly inside the car. Among the highlights are a refrigerator, an advanced air-conditioning system and the LG Styler, a device that allows clothes to be cooled and ironed during the journey. This integration seeks to provide a comfortable and functional environment, adapted to the needs of the modern user.

Two versions for different lifestyles

LG and Kia have developed two variants of this prototype to cater to different preferences:

  • Spielraum Studio: Designed for professionals on the move, this model offers a workspace equipped with an intelligent mirror, a coffee maker and an artificial intelligence assistant that optimizes the environment according to the user’s activities.
  • Spielraum Glow: Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, this version includes a refrigerator, oven and wine cooler, all with MoodUP panels that allow you to customize the vehicle’s lighting and ambience.

Intelligent technology at the service of the user

Both models are equipped with LG ThinQ ON, a centralized control system that uses artificial intelligence to manage the vehicle’s appliances. This system allows tasks such as adjusting the temperature, programming the coffee maker or even coordinating external services such as home deliveries or restaurant reservations, all from an intuitive interface.

Coming soon to the market

Unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025, this project is at an advanced stage of development. The first units are expected to be available to the public in the second half of the year, marking a milestone in the convergence between domestic and automotive technology.

This advance represents a significant step towards a more personalized and comfortable mobility, where the vehicle becomes an extension of the home, adapting to the routines and preferences of each individual.
